IN REPLACE
Albatross 'IN Replace' enables operators to make an effortless migration from traditional to new technologies. A seamless transition can be made from outdated, complex and costly TDM/PSTN environments to IP/IMS environments, whilst retaining complete customer satisfaction.
NEW NETWORK MIGRATION
'IN Replace' involves the copying, installation and implemention of applications from an operator's old IN platform to our iNode system (which supports SS7, ANSI based protocols INAP, MAP, CAP, IS-41 and SIP).
The operator can:
- Migrate to a new network and retain services based on their old network.
- Build enhancements and new services on top providing flexibility for future business opportunities.

'IN REPLACE' CUSTOMER MOTIVATING FACTORS
- Old TDM based network is complex, costly.
- End-of-life/support for platforms.
- Limited personnel resources with IN competence.
- Future IMS migration of IN services.
ALBATROSS 'IN REPLACE' ADVANTAGES
- Simplification: old and complex systems can be replaced while IN services are seamlessly migrated.
- Cost reduction: minimise costly maintenance and support costs.
- Future proof: Traditional IN services can be carried forward to Next Generation Networks (NGN) as new services are developed.
- Albatross IN and SIP expertise.
FUTURE PROOF
There is a current trend amongst telecoms vendors to shut down IN support and development in order to focus on newer technologies. However, while other IN providers may be abandoning their IN product lines, we are strengthening ours, and are committed to supporting TDM based IN services until 2030.
WORKING TOGETHER
Close collaboration with our customers is one of our basic principles. During an ‘In Replace’ project, the operator specifies the pace of migration, and works closely with our technical team to plan and perform the migration activities. We interface and support both networks for the duration required. To enable testing, we have a full iNode test system to carry out service functionality tests as well as interoperability testing between the iNode and the operator's switches.
