CUSTOMER REQUIREMENTS
The Italian Communication Ministry imposed a demand on all fixed telecoms operators to enable direct routing of all mobile terminating calls by All Call Query (ACQ).
ALBATROSS SOLUTION
The solution provided for Fastweb is an example of our customer driven approach to application development. We initially delivered our Mobile Number Portability (MNP) routing service, which deals with the routing of ported mobile numbers on a national level, and developed two additional services for Fastweb
In 2005, Fastweb needed a solution for identifying the origin of mobile calls to its Freephone numbers. Albatross provided the A-MCR service. This routing service is for calls by mobile phone users to a premium rate number. A-MCR ensures that an audio message with the correct price information is played and the correct billing applied to the call.
In 2008, Fastweb became an MVNO and needed the A-MCR application to function for their mobile calls, so we adapted the product for their mobile network.

Thanks to our NP services, Fastweb makes substantial savings on unnecessary transit calls and does not have to pay the incumbent operator to perform IN requests.
